Macushla House is a small independent luxury private house and bed and breakfast Guest House hotel in the Karen suburb of Nairobi, Kenya. The base word Macushla is a Gaelic word referring to multiple terms of endearment. Macushla Home Hotel concept was itself developed from experiences in world of travel and set a vision for attracting guests who wanted an uncommon overnight lodge accommodation expertise away from the mass touristy hotel encounter.

While on holiday vacation on the Emerald Isle of Ireland, the founder was inspired by the many lovely modest establishments, which all had their own unique ambience. Over the years, several people have come to appreciate the eclectic collection of artifacts from all over the globe and serene atmosphere discovered at Macushla Residence. Nairobi Macushla House Hotel was originally two semi-detached cottages but has been created into a single huge home with accommodation for ten guests in two wings which the owners describe as a “house from residence.”

Facilities at the Nairobi Macushla Home Hotel consist of a resident’s bar, swimming pool and an attractive dining room. The gardens and grounds overlook 1 of the last areas of indigenous forest in the area. Macushla House is within straightforward reach of several neighborhood attractions: Nairobi National Park is close by, local craft workshops, the Giraffe Centre, and a bird walk. Macushla Home is a welcome option for Kenya safariand company traveller alike, whether overnight or lengthy-term and the staff, Carrie and Grant, are on hand with that personal touch.

There’s absolutely nothing much more amazing that getting back to nature, even in small doses.  You cannot help feeling better and acquiring a much better outlook on life, even in the worst of times, if you surround yourself with some of the beauty of nature.  All you have to do is take the time to look.  Most us hurry through our busy days without having taking the time to “Smell The Roses.”

Some of the most gorgeous creatures in nature are birds.  They come in such lovely colors and are so intriguing to watch.  By putting bird feeders, bird baths, and bird houses in your yard you will have constant access to these beautiful specimens of nature.  If you have a garden with lots of colorful flowers birds will enjoy you.  These flowers offer them with food and shelter.  If you offer them with some extra food and shelter, your garden will really be a location they will return to year after year.  Your yard could turn out to be their permanent year round property.

Birds are often attracted to water, they particularly enjoy moving water, such as water capabilities. They will also flock to non-moving sources such as birdbaths.  They will truly enjoy your yard if you add some of these functions, and you’ll be glad you did.  Birds are scared off by shiny objects, so make sure you use a non-reflective surface.  The yard with a stone or resin birdbath will attract a lot more birds than one that has birdbaths or water capabilities created of metal. Having a mixture of moving water and a bird bath is a great way to attract birds. There are some fantastic specialty bird baths that are made to slowly bubble water up in the center of the bath like a fountain.  The water stays in the bath an does not spray out, which could scare the birds, but it moves enough that the birds are attracted to it. Birds will be enticed to drink and play.

Bird Houses for the Purple Martins

The Purple Martin is the largest swallow found in North America.  The adult has a slightly forked tail which aids it in flight, giving it speed and agility.  When approaching its housing, the purple martin will dive from the sky at excellent speed with its wings tucked.

It takes two years for this species to reach its full adult breeding plumage and only then is it possible to, effectively, identify them.  Adult males are entirely black with a glossy steel blue sheen even though adult females are dark on leading with some steel blue sheen and lighter under parts. 

The eastern species of the purple martins nest exclusively, in man-created bird houses.  It is the only species of bird totally dependent on humans for nest web sites.  It is important to note that purple martin houses that are unmonitored usually grow to be breeding houses for starlings and sparrows—species that are a main reason for the declining of the martin population in North America.  These species typically kill martins for their nest cavity.  Since of the devastating impact that these intruders have on the martins, a lot of landlords trap these species to insure the survival of the martin colonies.
